                     Metro Railway, Kolkata has been declared as 17th Zonal Railway w.e.f. 29-12-2010 vide Govt. of India Gazette Notification (REGD. No.D.L.-33004/99) endt. vide Railway Board’s letter No.2010/E&R/1500/19 dtd. 29-12-2010. Metro Railway’s own non-gazetted cadre has been formed w.e.f. 25-05-2006.
