This is a computer based ticket issuing and ticket checking system introduced in this Railway in 1990. Initially, 4 Ticket Operating Machines, 8 Gates & 4 Passenger Operated Machines at Esplanade and 3 TOMs, 10 Gates & 4 POMs at Tollygung were installed on trial basis. At present the system is fully operative at all 24  Metro stations. Now the system is comprised of 157 nos. of TOM and 206 nos. of Gates. The system utilizes magnetic strip tickets, which are automatically checked for validity both at the Entry and Exit Gates.

Metro Railway has recently introduced Smart Card System simultaneously working with the existing ticket system. For this 1/3 Gates are provided with Smart Card Interface System.
Metro Railway is planning to intro duce Smart Token System in recent future.
Future plan is to provide Smart Card and Smart Token with all existing Gates and with all new Gates in the extension project of Tollygang ? New Garia Section.
