Welfare:
There are 5 nos. of Inspectors to deal with the Grievances, Settlement & issue of Pensioners Identity Card, Passes etc. There is a Welfare Section dealing with Staff Benefit Fund, Advances, Loans, Medical-Reimbursement etc.
Industrial Relations:
Local unrecognized unions exist and staff / policy matters, as and when required, is discussed informally.Such informal meetings are held at various levels of management for smooth maintenance of IR.
Technical Training Facility:
Technical Training School is situated at Noapara Carshed for Electrical, Traffic & S&T Departments. Employees of these Departments are imparted professional training for efficient discharge of their duties. In Budget 2011-12, Hon’ble MR had announced setting up of a Multi Disciplinary Traning Centre at Metro Railway, Kolkata, at an anticipated cost ofRs.3.05 crores. It has been decided that this will be located at the vacated hospital building at Tollygunge. Necessary conversion works are under process.
Canteen:
A non-statutory canteen is functioning at Metro Rail Bhavan.This Canteen is catering to nearly eight hundred staff working at Metro Rail Bhavan and also for staff working at nearby Metro Railway Stations. Another Canteen is functioning at Dum Dum Car Depot Complex under the Workshop administration. This Canteen is catering to nearly 650 staff.Both the Canteens are being run on, No profit- No loss basis.
