METRO RAILWAY OBSERVES 72nd REPUBLIC DAY
Metro Railway observed the 72nd Republic Day on 26.01.2021.
As part of this programme, Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway unfurled the National Flag at Metro Rail Bhavan and took the Guard of Honour from RPF and Bharat Scouts & Guides.
In his address to the staff & officers present on this occasion, he highlighted the following achievements of Metro Railway:
In the current financial year 2019-20, Metro Railway’s passenger earnings have been Rs. 14.91 Crores up to December’ 20.
Metro carried 85.11 lakh passengers from Sept’20 to Dec’ 20.
RPF has rescued 07 children (01 Girl & 06 Boys).
In his speech, General Manager has also mentioned that the first trial run on Noapara-Dakshineswar stretch was successfully conducted on 23rd December, 20. Shortly, passengers will be able to visit Dakshineswar temple by Metro.
On-line recharge facility of Smart Cards was launched on 30th June, ’20 and in-house developed Metro Railway official mobile APP was launched on 15th August, ’20.
Four escalators at Kalighat, Jatin Das Park, Chandni Chowk and Mahatma Gandhi Road stations have been replaced with new energy efficient escalators during the lockdown period.
Despite the lockdown, works of all the on-going Metro projects went on smoothly and significant progress has been achieved.
Shri Joshi stressed upon ensuring safety, security, punctuality and enhancing amenities for the passengers and urged upon the Metro employees to be more dedicated in providing the best service to the commuters.
