REMOVAL OF ABANDONED CIRCULAR RAILWAY GIRDER GOING on AT BIMANBANDAR STATION SITE
The construction work of Noapara- Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project has been going on in full swing even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Significant progress has been achieved at the Bimanbandar station site of this project during the lockdown. The abandoned viaducts of Circular Railway which have been infringing with the alignment of the underground Metro tunnel of Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project have also been removed near Bimanbandar Metro station site during this period. A 600 MT crane was used to unload an abandoned girder weighing nearly 425 MT successfully beside Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport Departure Flyover on 16.09.2020.
The construction work of a subway at this Bimanbandar station site linking Bimanbandar with Jessore Road has also started on 16.09.2020.
Senior officers of Metro Railway and other staff have been working round the clock to ensure the smooth progress of this work. All safety precautions have been taken at the project site and workers have been maintaining all COVID-19 protocols while executing the job.
