DAMAGED SOLAR PANELS DUE TO AMPHAN RESTORED AT METRO STATIONS
During the nationwide lockdown, Metro Railway has taken up the job of infrastructural development as well as augmentation of passenger amenities at Metro premises. Different departments have been working to replace old and damaged equipments and machineries. 50 damaged Solar panels at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Noapara stations have been repaired recently. These Solar panels were damaged and uprooted by cyclone ‘Amphan’. This restoration work has been done on priority basis and all the panels have been fixed. They are now working normally.
Another 15 Solar Panels which were damaged by the cyclone will be replaced very soon. It is to be noted that Solar plants at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Noapara stations generate around 2000 units of clean energy every day and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Station is also called a Green Station.
