MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES GOING on IN FULL SWING IN METRO RAILWAY
During the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, Metro services have been suspended from 23.03.2020. Though Metro services are suspended, maintenance activities of different departments have been going on smoothly to keep all Metro assets including rolling stocks ready for resumption of its services.
Regular cleaning activities of entrance gates, toilets and common areas such as staircases, lifts & escalators have been going on by using recommended disinfectant materials both in North-South and East-West Metro.
Sansitization of rakes both inside and outside including coach interiors, seats, handles, doors, Motormen seats etc. are also going on. Metro staff have been undertaking regular safety checks including car equipments, lubricators, break pad, fuse suspension, couplers regularly. Maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning unit is also going on for ensuring proper functioning of AC units.
Necessary repairing work, replacement of old cable lines, tunnel leakage treatment has also been taken up for system improvement.
Inspection of third rail along with foot patrolling of entire section of East-West and North-South Metro has also been done.
Metro Railway has also been running Trial Specials to check power supply, signalling system, preparedness of control room and other staff, condition of Metro tunnels, fitness of rolling stock and other assets.
