METRO RAILWAY ORGANISES SAFETY SEMINAR

Metro Railway, Kolkata organized a Safety Seminar cum interaction programme o­n 30.01.2020 at Metro Rail Bhavan. Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway in his inaugural address stressed upon the importance of holding such programmes  and said that such initiatives will lead  to improvements and providing better safety to the commuters. Shri Janak Kumar Garg, Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety was also present in this seminar.

In view of the about  to be commissioned East-West Metro Salt Lake Sector-V to Salt Lake Stadium which will be run o­n Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) , the main topic of the seminar was Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) & Train Protection Warning System (TPWS). The railway officials present in this seminar described various aspects and advised the workers about important activities to be followed in maintaining safety of the passengers related to CBTC and TPWS. In this seminar – cum – interaction programme, technical experts from Hyderabad Metro and also explained the queries raised by the root level workers which they face in day to day work.

The officers and staff of Electrical, Civil Engineering, Signal & Telecom and Security Departments were present in this seminar.

As part of creating awareness o­n these subjects among the staff, a quiz contest based o­n safety matters was also organized in this programme.
