METRO PAYS HOMAGE TO NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE, METROMEN AND COMMUTERS DONATE BLOOD
As part of paying homage to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on his 123rd birth anniversary, a blood donation camp was organized today on 23.01.2020 by Bharat Scouts & Guides, Metro Railway at Netaji Bhavan Metro Station, which is located a few hundred meters away from Netaji's Elgin Road residence, in association with the Medical Department, Metro Railway.
This camp was inaugurated by Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager & Patron- in- Chief, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Metro Railway. In his address, Shri Joshi paid his tribute to Netaji and spoke about the importance of blood donation and thanked the donors for coming forward for such a noble cause. He also encouraged the blood donors and advised the organizers to organize more such camps in future.
Buddhist Monk Dr.Arunjyoti Bhikkhu who was present in the camp thanked the organisers and the blood donors for coming forward to make this camp a grand success.
An awareness campaign on Organ Donation and a cultural programme were also organized as part of this programme.
Smt.Dipti Joshi, President, Metro Railway Women's Welfare Organisation, Shri Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Shri Mihir Choudhury, Chief Medical Officer, other senior officers and staff took part in this camp.
36 donors including 22 Metromen and 14 commuters donated blood in this camp.
Metro Railway authorities are thankful to commuters for coming forward to donate blood.
