LIST OF GATES REMAINING OPEN FOR COMMUTERS AT BLUE LINE STATIONS FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL NIGHT SERVICES

Kolkata, Date: 21.06.2024

The timings of the experimental night services o­n Blue Line are being advanced by 20 minutes from 24.06.2024 (Monday). At present these services are leaving Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash stations at 11.00 pm from Monday to Friday. From 24.06.2024, these services will leave at 10.40 pm from Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash stations. These experimental night services will be available from Monday to Friday and will stop at all stations en-route. No ticket counter will remain open to issue tokens, Smart Cards etc. at any station. Commuters are requested to purchase tokens from the ASCRM machines installed at all stations by using UPI payment mode. Commuters having Metro Smart Cards will also be able to avail these experimental night services.

For the convenience of the passengers, Metro authorities have decided to open more gates in most of the stations. In stations like Netaji, Masterda Surya Sen, Gitanjali, Kavi Nazrul, Sahid Khudiram and Kavi Subhash, 100 % gates remain open for the passengers willing to avail these services.

In stations like Dum Dum, Belgachia, Girish Park, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Maidan and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, more than 60 % gates are remaining open. In stations like Shyambazar, Sovabazar-Sutanuti, Chandni Chowk, Park Street, Rabindra Sadan, Netaji Bhavan and Rabindra Sarobar, 50 % gates are remaining open for these experimental services in order to make entry and exit of passengers fast and easy. During this experimental run which has been undertaken for around a month, it has been observed that in stations like Central, Esplanade, Park Street, Maidan, Netaji Bhavan, Jatin Das Park, Gitanjali and Sahid Khudiram average passenger count has been hovering around o­nly 10 to 20 daily. In spite of that Metro authorities have decided to open more gates for passengers. Metro authorities have been closely monitoring the passenger figures at stations and necessary steps will be taken in future for passenger’s convenience if situation demands.

The following gates of different Blue Line stations are remaining open for the experimental night services: -

1.     Dum Dum – Gate No.1 (North Side Gate) and Gate No.4 (South Side Gate)

2.     Belgachia – Gate No.1(Milk Colony Gate) and Gate No.3 (Rajbari Gate)

3.     Shyambazar- Gate No.1 (Five Point Crossing) and Gate No.4 (Bhupen Bose Avenue)

4.     Sovabazar-Sutanuti – Gate No.1 (Grey Street Gate) and Gate No.3 (Lal Mandir Gate)

5.     Girish Park – Gate No.1 and Gate No.3

6.     Mahatma Gandhi Road – Gate No.1 (Mahajati Sadan Gate) and Gate No.2 (Mechua Gate)

7.     Central- Gate No.2 (Lal Bazaar Gate), Gate No.4 (Loreto School Gate) and Gate No.6 (Medical College Gate)

8.     Chandni Chowk – Gate No.1 (Hindustan Building Gate), Gate No.4 (Yogayog Bhavan Gate) and Gate No.5 (Airlines Gate)

9.     Esplanade – Gate No.1 (Rani Rashmoni Gate), Gate No.2 and Gate No.5

10.   Park Street – Gate No.1 (Museum Gate), Gate No.2 and Gate No.3

11.   Maidan- Gate No.1 (Elliot Park Gate) and Gate No.2 (Jeevan Deep Gate)

12.   Rabindra Sadan – Gate No.2 (Nandan Gate) and Gate No.3 (Reservation Gate)

13.   Netaji Bhavan- Gate No.2 (Ashutosh Mukherjee Road Gate) and Gate No.4 ( Jagubabu’s Bazar Gate)

14.   Jatin Das Park – Gate No.1 (Hazra More Gate), Gate No.3 (Cancer Hospital Gate) and Gate No.5 (Uttam Mancha Gate)

15.   Kalighat – Gate No.1 (Kali Temple Gate), Gate No.3 (Tollygunge Auto Stand Gate) and Gate No.4

16.   Rabindra Sarobar – Gate No.1 (Main Gate, Opposite of Eastern Railway Gate) and Gate No.6

17.   Mahanayak Uttam Kumar – Gate No.1 and Gate No.2 (Main Gate)

18.   Netaji- All Gates

19.   Masterda Surya Sen- All Gates

20.   Gitanjali – All Gates

21.   Kavi Nazrul – All Gates

22.   Sahid Kudhiram- All Gates

23.   Kavi Subhash – All Gates.

Commuters willing to avail these night services are requested to use these gates o­nly.
