TRIAL RUN FOR TRAFFIC BLOCK FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NON-CONCOURSE SLAB AT NICCO PARK (NALBAN) METRO STATION o­n ORANGE LINE

Kolkata, Date: 14.06.2024

Good news for all Metro commuters!

 

The necessary trial run for Traffic Block in connection with the construction of Metro Non- Concourse Slab i.e. viaduct which will be attached at both the ends of Nicco Park (Nalban) Metro station o­n Orange Line has been going o­n. After receiving the permission from Bidhan Nagar Police Commissionerate this trial run has been taken up. This Non-Concourse Slab will connect the viaduct with the station.

 

This trial run is being conducted to check all the parameters o­n the busy road at Nicco Park. After, writing several letters for approval of NOC for the trial run to Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, the NOC for trial run was received o­n 08.06.2024.

 

During this traffic block, for the convenience of the pedestrians as well as other commuters rope lights have been provided o­n guard rails for proper visibility. Apart from that halogen lights have also been provided in the barricaded area for proper illumination. Signage boards have been placed o­n both the endsto make commuters and the drivers aware about the work-in-progress. The road has been widened towards the Airport-end by RVNL for smooth traffic flow during the block period.

 

With a view to check all parameters, the trial run for at least seven days from 09.06.2024 to 15.06.2024 is being undertaken and then further course of action will be contemplated based o­n the feedback from this run.

 

Once the permission for Traffic Block is received, it will take 90 days to complete the work successfully.
