PRESS RELEASE

UPI PAYMENT BASED TICKETING SYSTEM INTRODUCED IN ASCRM MACHINES OF MORE STATIONS OF BLUE LINE

Kolkata, Date: 27.05.2024

UPI Payment Based Ticketing System has been introduced in Automatic Smart Card Recharge Machines (ASCRM) in Kavi Subhash, Masterda Surya Sen, Netaji, Rabindra Sarobar, Jatin Das Park, Netaji Bhavan, Maidan, Central, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Girish Park, Sovabazar-Sutanuti, Shyambazar and Belgachia stations of Blue Line. This ticketing system has already been introduced in all stations of Green Line. As a result, commuters now don't need to tender the exact fare in currency notes and coins at these stations. Instead, they have been recharging their Smart Cards or buy tokens with the help of this system.

It is to be mentioned that ASCRM machines of Howrah, Howrah Maidan Metro stations of Green Line, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, Rabindra Sadan, Esplanade and Park Street stations of Blue Line already have this facility for the benefits of the passengers.

Metro Railway authorities with the help of State Bank of India and Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have introduced this Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Based Ticketing System.

This facility will also be extended in other stations of Blue Line, Purple Line and Orange Line for the benefit of the commuters soon. Necessary arrangements for implementing this facility in these Corridors are being made.

Commuters have welcomed this new move of the Metro Authorities. Passengers’ response about this new UPI Payment Based Ticketing System has been very good today.
