DRINKING WATER FACILITIES IN GREEN LINE

Kolkata, April 19, 2024:

As the scorching summer has set in and Kolkata has been experiencing heatwaves, Metro Railway authorities have reviewed the availability of drinking water in its premises and action has been taken at all the stations to ensure adequate supply of potable water. All efforts are being made to provide clean drinking water to Metro passengers in this unpleasant weather. Main objective of this holistic effort is to ensure that commuters have easy access to drinking water at stations, making their journey more comfortable in the sweltering heat.Ministry of Railways is committed to providing a comfortable and convenient travel experience to all passengers.

22 purified drinking water facilities are now available from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah and Esplanade to Howrah Maidan stations of Green Line.

The quality of water supplied through these machines is being frequently checked with the help of suitable devices. In the water facilities, Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology or alternate superior technology is being used.

Under the able guidance of General Manager Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, Metro Railway's proactive approach underscores its commitment to passenger satisfaction and well-being. By providing access to clean, potable drinking water and efficient  facilities, Metro Railway ensures that passengers can stay hydrated and comfortable in the Summer.
