PRESS RELEASE

DRINKING WATER FACILITIES IN BLUE LINE

Kolkata, April 16, 2024:

Availability of drinking water of prescribed standard for passengers at stations is a basic amenity. The objective of this initiative is to ensure that passengers get potable drinking water during summer days at all stations.

As the mercury is on the rise in Kolkata, Metro Railway authorities are gearing up to ensure that commuters have easy access to drinking water at stations, making their journey more comfortable in the sweltering heat. 56 purified drinking water facilities are now available from Dakshineshwar to Kavi Subhash stations of Blue Line.

The quality of water supplied through these machines is being frequently checked with the help of suitable devices. In the water facilities, Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology or alternate superior technology is being used.

Under the able guidance of General Manager Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, Metro Railway's proactive approach underscores its commitment to passenger satisfaction and well-being. By providing access to clean, potable drinking water and efficientfacilities, Metro Railway ensures that passengers can stay hydrated and comfortable in the Summer.
