PERMISSION FOR TRAFFIC BLOCK FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PIER-319 AT CHINGRIGHATA CROSSING RECEIVED

Kolkata,Date: 28.02.2024

Good news for all Metro commuters!

Permission for an awaited traffic block at Chingrighata Crossing (one of the busiest crossings of Kolkata) for construction of Pier No.319 of Kavi Subhash to Airport via Rajarhat Metro Project has been given o­n 27.02.2024 by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, Kolkata to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Prior to giving this permission, rigorous trial runs of traffic regulation at this crossing were conducted from 22.02.2024 to 26.02.2024. Considering all parameters, permission for the traffic block for construction of this Pier has been given for 75 days from today i.e. 28.02.2024.

Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway has instructed concerned officials of RVNL to complete the construction of this Pier within the stipulated deadline. RVNL will take all possible safety measures while executing this job at Chingrighata Crossing. With this permission, a big stumbling block which has been delaying this Project has been removed.
