METRO CARRIED MORE THAN 41.6 LAKHS PASSENGERS FROM MAHAPANCHAMI TO BIJOYADASHAMI

Thank you very much to all Metro commuters!

Like all other previous years, Metro has carried lion share of passengers during Puja days in and around Kolkata. Commuters have also found it convenient to travel in the Metro to visit different Puja pandals during the festivities.

Metro Railway has carried 41.65 lakhs passengers from Mahapanchami to Bijoyadashami this year. Out of this, North-South Metro has ferried 39,46,945 passengers and East-West Metro has carried 2,16,581  passengers o­n those six days. Purple Line has carried 1,807 o­n Mahapanchami and Mahasashti.

In North-South Metro, maximum passenger count has been recorded at Dum Dum (3,84,857) followed by Kalighat (3,68,830) and Sovabazar-Sutanuti (2,73,098) from Mahapanchami to Bijoyadashami .

In East-West Metro, maximum passenger count has been recorded at Sealdah (82,944) followed by Salt Lake Sector V (31,225) and Karunamoyee (26,349) from Mahapanchami to Bijoyadashami.

Metro has earned Rs.6.12 crores by selling tokens, Smart Cards and recharging Smart Cards o­n these days. Out of this, North-South Metro has earned Rs 5.79 crores. East-West Metro has earned  Rs 32.86 lakhs  and Purple Line has earned Rs 26,460 respectively.

It is to be noted that in North-South Metro night-long services were run o­n Mahasaptami, Mahastami and Mahanabami. o­n these three days, East-West Metro services were run till midnight. Metro officers and staff worked in tandem to provide best possible services to valued commuters. Metro commuters also co-operated with us and they were all in praise as Metro authorities had made elaborate arrangements to provide them hassle-free journeys.
