CONSTRUCTION WORK OF VIP BAZAR STATION OF ORANGE LINE GOING on IN FULL SWING

The construction work of different Metro projects which were stalled or affected due to different issues have got impetuous over the last few years as enough funds and other assistances are being provided to complete the work at the earliest. Ministry of Railways and Prime Minister’s Office have been closely monitoring the progress of these projects regularly.
As a consequence, construction work of Kavi Subhash- Airport Metro Corridor (Orange Line) is progressing smoothly. Already a part of this Corridor from Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadyay station is fully ready for commissioning. Construction works of different stations of Orange Line after Hemanta Mukhopadyay station towards Airport have also been progressing well. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been working with a target to complete the construction works quickly where land and other issues have been resolved.
Construction work of VIP Bazar Metro station on E.M.Bypass near Picnic Garden has seen significant progress in the recent times. Concreting work of this station site is almost complete. Scaffolding works of the station and platform roof are currently going on along with the covering of the roof. The installation work of escalators from Concourse to Platform area is also going on in full swing. The floors will be covered with granites and that work is also nearing completion.
State-of-the-art passenger amenities are going to be provided at VIP Bazar station. There will be 08 escalators, 04 lifts provided at this station. Apart from these, 06 staircases will also be available here.
There will be two spacious platforms of 180-metre length at VIP Bazar station along with 04 ticket counters, 06 sitting benches, 01 first-aid room. Apart from these, one toilet for ladies, one for gents and one for Divyangjan will be available for the convenience of the passengers. Among other amenities, 02 water coolers will be installed for the use of commuters. Public Address System, digital display boards, emergency lighting facility for the convenience of the passengers, tactile floor indicators for the blind will be some other added amenities here.
In order to increase Metro’s earnings, spaces for Property Development will be available at this station to exploit the possibilities of commercial activities. once commissioned, this station is expected to experience huge footfalls and will be buzzing with commercial activities.
