CONSTRUCTION WORK OF BARUN SENGUPTA STATION

(ORANGE LINE) GOING o­n IN FULL SWING

Kolkata, 12.09.2023

The construction work of Barun Sengupta Metro station of Kavi Subhash- BimanBandar (Airport) Corridor (Orange Line) is going o­n in full swing. Concreting work of this station is almost complete. Scaffolding works of the station and platform roof are currently going o­n along with the covering of the roof. The installation work of escalators from Concourse to Platform area is also going in full swing. The floors will be covered with granites and that work is also nearing completion.

State of the art passenger amenities are going to be provided at Barun Sengupta station. There will be 08 escalators, 03 lifts provided at this station. Apart from these, 08 staircases will also be available here.

There will be two spacious platforms of 180-metre length at Barun Sengupta station along with 04 ticket counters, 06 sitting benches, 01 first-aid room.  Apart from these, o­ne toilet for ladies, o­ne for gents and o­ne for divyangjan will be available for the convenience of the passengers. Among other amenities, 02 water coolers will be installed for the use of commuters. Public Address System, digital display boards, emergency lighting facility for the convenience of the passengers, tactile floor indicators for the blind will be some other added amenities here.

In order to increase Metros earnings from Non-Fare Revenue segment, there will be 1077 sq mtr of space available here as property development area. This area would be utilized for commercial purposes o­nce this station is commissioned.
