SPEED TRIAL CONDUCTED on HEMANTA MUKHOPADHYAY-KAVI SUBHAS STRETCH IN PRESENCE OF GENERAL MANAGER

A trial run on Kavi Subhas – Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch of Kavi Subhas – Jai Hind (Airport) Metro Project (Orange Line) has been conducted today, i.e. on 23.08.2023 with an AC rake in presence of Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway. During the return journey from Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Kavi Subhas station, the speed trial was conducted at a speed of 80 kmph.This trial started at 13.24 hrs. and the rake reached Kavi Subhas station at 13.32 hrs. running non-stop. Shri Reddy was present at the Driving Motorman's cab during this speed trial.
It is to be noted that this is the stretch on which a rake can run with a maximum speed of 80 kmph.
Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, other Principal Heads of Departments and senior officials of Metro Railway and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited were present during this trial run.
General Manager also inspected passenger amenities of different stations on this stretch and also the passenger interchanging arrangements in between Blue Line and Orange Line at Kavi Subhas Metro station.
Shri Reddy expressed his satisfaction seeing the overall work and the outcome of today's trial run. He also travelled in the Metro from Park Street to Kavi Subhas in UP and DN and interacted with the commuters.
