A PASSENGER EVACUATION MOCK DRILL CONDUCTED WITH NDRF IN METRO TUNNELS

Metro Railway always gives top priority to the safety and security of the commuters. In order to check the preparedness of Metro staff to tackle any emergency like train accident inside tunnel, a passenger evacuation mock drill was conducted jointly with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel inside the Metro tunnels in between Phoolbagan and Sealdah Metro stations on 19.08.2023 night.
Metromen were trained and counseled by NDRF team on how to take immediate necessary action and follow procedures to rescue passengers in case of a train accident inside the tunnels like disaster.
The objective of this mock drill was to upgrade the evacuation skills as well as check alertness and preparedness of Metromen during such emergencies.
Senior Metro officers and staff of different departments were present during this drill.
