TRAFFIC DIVERSION GRANTED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NABADIGANTA METRO STATION

Kolkata, Date: 27.07.2023

Construction work of Nabadiganta Metro station has got a big boost as Bidhannagar Traffic Police Department has given the all necessary traffic diversion (Stage-I) o­n 24.07.2023. This diversion will enable the  Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) to construct the Nabadiganta (Technopolis) Metro station o­n the New Garia-Airport Metro Corridor.This station will be the 13th station towards the Airport. Construction work of this station was held up due to some land dispute and as a result this station has been shifted to a new location to avoid the disputed land. For this 2791 sq.meter fresh land was acquired from Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

 

This upcoming Nabadiganta Metro station will be 180-meter long and 35-meter wide. For this, 294 piles, 36 pile caps and 46 columns are required to be constructed. As this traffic diversion nod has been given, RVNL will soon start the construction work utilizing this diversion. Required steps are being taken to start this work very soon.
