PRESS RELEASE

HELPLINE NUMBERS COME TO THE BENEFIT OF

METRO COMMUTERS

Kolkata, Date: 30.06.2023

With a view to ensuring security of the passengers in general and lady passengers in particular, Metro Railway introduced Women Helpline No: 9007041908 and Security Helpline No. 9007041789 so that passengers can seek help in case of emergency through these numbers while travelling in the Metro. Dedicated staff have been deployed at Metro Rail Bhavan to receive any call in these numbers and act accordingly to provide immediate assistance/help to the Metro commuters.

These Helpline Numbers are on display inside Metro rakes and at Metro stations for the benefit of our commuters. As a result, these numbers have become popular and commuters feel comfortable to call at these numbers for seeking help in cases like loss of child / relatives, loss of bags/other valuable items in the Metro premises. Metro authorities always remain alert and vigilant in such cases and provide prompt help according to the stipulated rules. In 2023 from April to June, total 1359 such emergency calls were received in these helpline numbers and all the calls were attended and immediate remedial steps were taken and necessary assistance were provided to the callers.

Metro commuters have thanked the Metro Railway authorities after getting the required assistance/help in emergencies which has been encouraging for us and we are determined to provide best possible services and care  for their well-being in Metro premises.
