MOCK RERAIL DRILL CUM TRAINING CONDUCTED IN METRO

 

Kolkata, Date: 28.06.2023

 

Metro Railway takes all possible measures and care for ensuring commuters safety. Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway regularly monitors and reviews safety measurements adopted in the 'Lifeline of the City' to avoid any untoward incident. In order to check the preparedness of Metro staff of different departments to tackle any emergency inside the tunnels or o­n the viaduct, regular mock drills are conducted o­n Blue Line and Green Line.

 

One such mock drill cum training for field staff of Metro Railway was conducted under the supervision of Senior Officers today i.e. o­n 28.06.2023 at Central Park Depot of East-West Metro. In this drill, Metro staff were imparted training about how to rerail coaches in case of a derailment and restore normalcy at the earliest.

 

Senior Officers and staff from Traffic, Electrical, Signal and Telecommunications, RPF and Fire & Safety Departments participated in this mock drill. It is expected that such drill will sharpen the skill and alertness of Metro staff to respond to any emergency situation and minimize the rescue time and restore normalcy at the earliest.
