HUGE AMOUNT OF GOLD RECOVERED AND RETURNED TO COMMUTER

Metro RPF has recovered huge amount of gold jewellery from Metro station. These pieces of jewellery were left behind by a lady commuter at Noapara Metro station. Thanks to the outstanding effort of the alert and vigilant Metro RPF staff of that station that these pieces of  jewellery were recovered within a very short period of time and handed over to that lady commuter.

On 21.05.2023 at about 16:35 hrs at Noapara Station, an o­n-duty lady RPF staff during a routine check found an unclaimed bag near the sitting chair of the platform. She immediately deposited it to the Station Master’s Office after careful checking.

After opening the bag , 40 gms of gold necklace, 5 gms of gold earring, 12 gms of  gold ring, a diamond ring, 15 gms of gold Kangan, 2 gms of gold bangle, 4gms of gold plated Shankha and 4 gms of gold plated Pola all worth Rs 5,14,800 were found inside the bag.

Thereafter, the Station Master made repeated announcements requesting the owner of the bag to collect it from the Station Master’s Office and a control message was also communicated to all the stations.

After sometimes, at about 17:20 hrs, a lady commuter came to the Station Master’s office and claimed the ownership of the bag and the pieces of jewellery. After proper verification and complying with all official formalities, the recovered bag and the jewellery were handed over to her.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Metro Railway authorities for helping her to recover the lost bag.

Metro commuters have full confidence o­n Metro authorities to get back their lost or misplaced goods in Metro. Metro RPF remains alert and vigilant in helping commuters and takes utmost care to return such lost goods or valuables to the owners in good condition.
