PRESS RELEASE

NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT METRO SIGNAGES

Kolkata, 21st May, 2023

It has been reported in a section of social media with photographs that the name of the upcoming Satyajit Roy Metro station of Orange Line has been written wrongly in Bengali on station board.

Terming it as a baseless and false report and the supporting photo posted as morphed, Shri Kausik Mitra, CPRO/Metro Railway has strongly condemned the effort of spreading such fake news. He has assured all that the name of Satyajit Roy, the film maestro has been written properly in Bengali on all station boards (supporting photographs are attached).

Metro Railway is an important zone of Indian Railways. Like all other railway zones, all signages at all Metro stations are written according to Tribhasa Sutra, giving due importance to local language, i.e. Bengali. Metro Railway respects all the luminaries of India and always takes utmost care about the text of the signages which are on display at all stations.

Kausik Mitra

Chief Public Relations Officer
