METRO SERVICES TO BE REGULATED o­n 20.05.23 (SATURDAY) AND 21.05.23 (SUNDAY)

 

Kolkata, Date: 19.05.2023

 

Due to the regular track maintenance work, a mega power block will be taken in between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Kavi Subhash Metro stations. This power block will be taken o­n 20.05.23(Saturday) and 21.05.23 (Sunday).

 

On 20.05.23(Saturday), Metro services will run in between Dakshineswar/Dumdum – Mahanayak Uttam Kumar stations from 06:50 hrs to 10:00 hrs. as usual. No services will be available o­n Mahanayak Uttam Kumar – Kavi Subhash stretch from 06:50 hrs – 10:00 hrs. o­n that day. From 10:00 hrs. o­nwards normal services will be available over the entire Dakshineswar – Kavi Subhash stretch as usual.

 

On 21.05.23 (Sunday) Metro services will be available in between Dakshineswar/Dumdum – Mahanayak Uttam Kumar stations from 09:00hrs to 10:00hrs. No Metro services will be available o­n Mahanayak Uttam Kumar – Kavi Subhash stretch from 09:00hrs – 10:00hrs. From 10:00hrs o­nwards normal services will be available over the entire Dakshineswar – Kavi Subhash stretch as usual.

 

Shri Kausik Mitra,CPRO, Metro Railway has categorically clarified that this block is being taken o­n this weekend for regular track maintenance work causing least inconvenience to the commuters. Metro piers o­n Kavi Subhash to Mahanayak Uttam Kumar stretch, i.e. the via-duct section is safe and fit for the Metro movement. Metro Railway authorities take all possible measures to ensure safety of commuters while running the Metro. Shri Mitra has further requested the commuters not to pay any heed to any rumour that Metro piers, pillars are unsafe and to co-operate with the Metro authorities during this track maintenance work.
