PERMISSION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PIER-318 AT CHINGRIGHATA CROSSING RECEIVED

Kolkata, 17th May, 2023

 

Good news for all Metro commuters!

Permission for a long awaited traffic block at Chingrighata Crossing (one of the busiest crossings of Kolkata) for construction of Pier No.318 of Kavi Subhash to Airport via Rajarhat Metro Project has been given today i.e. 17.05.2023 by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, Kolkata to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Prior to giving this permission, rigorous trial runs of traffic regulation at this crossing were conducted. The last trial run was conducted from 13.05.2023 to 16.05.2023. Considering all parameters, permission for construction of this Pier has been given today.

It is to be noted that Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway inspected this spot o­n 13.05.2023 (last Saturday) to ascertain the situation. He has instructed concerned officials of RVNL to complete the construction of this Pier within the stipulated deadline. RVNL will take all possible safety measures while executing this job at Chingrighata Crossing. With this permission, a big stumbling block which has been delaying this Project is removed.
