CONSTRUCTION WORK OF DIAPHRAGM WALL OF SUBWAY CONNECTING THE AIRPORT TERMINAL WITH BIMANBANDAR STATION COMPLETED

Construction works of different Metro Projects in the city have been going on in full swing.
A major milestone has been achieved in construction of underground Jai Hind (Bimanbandar) station recently. Construction of the Diaphragm wall DW-40 of the Subway connecting Jai Hind Station to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI)Terminal Building has been completed on 03.05.23 morning. Construction work of this diaphragm wall Cage having Length- 17.405 metre, Width - 4.00 metre and weight-15 MT started at 15.00 hrs.on 02.05.23.
For carrying out this work, diversion of traffic near Airport Volvo Bus stand was required.
After receiving approval from the Airport Authority of India & Bidhannagar Commissionerate, the traffic near Airport Terminal was blocked from 22:30 hrs of 02.05.2023 till 07:56 hrs of 03.05.2023.All safety precautions were ensured while blocking the road such as the display of traffic signages, deployment of traffic marshalls etc.
Shri Kausik Mitra, CPRO, Metro Railway has thanked Airport Authority of India and Bidhannagar Commissionerate for their support and help to sort out the hurdles in the execution of Bimanbandar Metro Project.
