PRESS RELEASE

METRO PILLARS ARE SAFE, NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT METRO’S SAFETY

Kolkata, Date: 02.05.2023

It has been reported in a section of media that Metro services are getting affected due to the dangerous condition of pillars in the section between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Kavi Subhash stations.

Terming it as a baseless and false report, Shri Kausik Mitra, CPRO/Metro Railway has strongly condemned the effort of spreading such news. He has assured the Metro commuters that pillars and piers of the Metro viaduct in that section are very much safe in all aspects. Regular maintenance work, which is a normal and regular process, is going on in that section. There is no need to worry or be apprehensive about Metro services as services are very much safe and secured. Metro Railway always takes utmost care and ensures safety of its passengers during running the commercial services.

The services will continue to run as per the schedule and normal Metro services will not be affected. There has been no cancellation of Metro services.

Kausik Mitra

Chief Public Relations Officer
