GM/METRO RAILWAY INAUGURATES 2ND INTER DIVISIONAL OFFICERS’ SPORTS & CULTURAL MEET
Kolkata, April 6, 2023
Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway has inaugurated the 2nd Inter Divisional Officers’ Sports & Cultural Meet, jointly organized by Metro Railway Sports Association (MRSA), Metro Railway Cultural Association, Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA) & Eastern Railway Cultural Association by lighting a torch at Belvedere Park Club today i.e. on 06.04.2023. Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Eastern Railway, Principal Heads of Departments of Metro Railway and Eastern Railway, other senior officers were present in this inaugural function. Highlighting the importance of sports, Shri Reddy has said that such sports and cultural meets act as catalysts to rejuvenate body and mind. He urged all to make sporting activities a part of the daily routine. Both General Managers also cut a cake to mark the occasion.
In the sports meet, events like Snooker, Badminton, Bridge, Volleyball, Chess, Carom, Swimming, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Cue Sports, Tug of War, Box Cricket, Throw Ball (for women) etc. will be played. Officers and their family members of Metro and Eastern Railway are taking part in different events. Shri Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, himself took part in snooker today.
Smt. Dola Banerjee, Archer & Arjuna Awardee, Smt. Soma Biswas, Olympian, Arjuna Awardee, Smt. Saraswati Saha, Asian Gold Medalist, Olympian, Smt. Aparna Ghosh, Basketball player & Dhyanchand Awardee and Shri Arghyadeep Das, International Master (Chess) took part in this sports meet.
This sports & cultural meet will continue till 8 April, 2023.
