METRO RPF VIGILANT TO ENSURE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF COMMUTERS

Metro Railway authorities take all possible measures for ensuring passengers comfort and safety. From providing security to commuters to rescuing children, Metro RPF has been playing a pivotal role in ensuring round the clock surveillance at the Metro premises.
From 1st April, 2022 to till date, Metro RPF has found 333.520 gm unaccounted gold jewellery worth Rs 15,84,457/- at Dum Dum Metro station and 9.691Kg of silver jewellery worth Rs 5,52,387/- at Rabindra Sadan Metro station and then handed over the recovered items to the local police stations.
42 Children (16 Boys and 26 Girls) were rescued and handed over to their parents or Police Stations during this period. 11 suicide attempts were also foiled by the on-duty RPF staff at different Metro stations.
RPF registered 131 cases for creating Nuisance, Spitting, Smoking and Littering etc. and realised a fine of Rs 33,020/- to keep the Metro premises clean and beautiful.
RPF has received total 3639 calls on Security Helpline (9007041789) and Women Security Helpline (9007041908) and assistances were provided to the passengers immediately after receiving the information.
During this period 204 cases under Railway Act have been registered and 241 persons have been prosecuted under Railway Act and realized Rs 52,550/- as fine.
