JESSORE ROAD STATION TO BECOME AN IMPORTANT STATION o­n NOAPARA-BARASAT METRO ROUTE

Kolkata, Date: 14.03.2023

Jessore Road station of Yellow Line i.e. Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro Project is going to be o­ne of the important stations o­n this corridor. Work is going o­n in full swing o­n Noapara-Bimanbandar stretch of this Project and in the first phase Metro will ply o­n this 6.25-km long stretch having four stations. Jessore Road station will be the o­nly station which is being constructed o­n the surface o­n this stretch. Noapara and Dumdum Cantonment stations have been built o­n viaduct and Bimanbandar station will be an underground station. Noapara will be the connecting station of Blue Line and Yellow Line.  It is estimated that around 46,000 commuters will be using Jessore Road station daily by 2035. People residing at Nagerbazar, Kaikhali More and Airport Authority of India’s Quarter Complex areas will find it very convenient to go to any part of the city by using this station.

State of the art passenger amenities will be provided at the newly built Jessore Road station. There will be 4 escalators, 2 lifts in this station for passengers’ convenience. Apart from these, 4 staircases will also be there connecting the platforms with the sub-way.  This sub-way will facilitate easy movement of passengers from UP and DN platforms. Adequate number of AFC-PC Gates will be installed at this station to ensure hassle-free movement of passengers. Modern fire-fighting equipment will also be installed to ensure passenger safety.

 

Jessore Road station will have two platforms to ensure easy entraining / detraining of passengers. There will be adequate number of ticket counters, sitting benches, toilets for ladies, gents and divyangjan, Public Address System for the convenience of the passengers.
