METRO RAILWAY SUCCESSFULLY COMMISSIONED ELECTRONIC INTERLOCKING (EI) OF DUM DUM PANEL TO IMPROVE TRAIN OPERATIONS

Metro Railway has successfully completed Electronic-Interlocking Work at Dum Dum Panel today morning i.e. on 15.01.2023. This work involved modification of the existing Electrical Interlocking System to an Electronic Interlocking (EI) System at Dum Dum Panel which is linked to all the routes, points, signals and track sections to the Carshed and next stations.
The modification done through non-interlocking will greatly improve the operational flexibility of movement of rakes to and from Dum Dum and thereby increase performance parameters of train running of Metro Railway. This has been done without hampering commercial services on the Blue Line. This Electronic Interlocking work started last night after the service hour and completed successfully this morning before the service hour.
After the commissioning of this Electronic Interlocking, Metro Railway will be able to provide improved passenger services.This will enhance safety and increase operational flexibility. Apart from that, incidents of failure of points and signal will be significantly reduced with the help of this computer-controlled system. It will also enhance the efficiency of the Panel Operators.
The work was completed under the supervision of Shri Jyotirmoy Ray, Dy. Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer.
