METRO CARRIES MORE THAN 4.72 LAKHS PASSENGERS on CHRISTMAS on BLUE LINE

Metro Railway has carried 4,72,562 passengers on Christmas, i.e. on 25.12.2022.
On 25th December maximum footfalls 56,839 have been recorded at Dumdum. Esplanade and Rabindra Sadan recorded 44,407 and 39,794 passenger count respectively. Park Street recorded 29,832 footfalls. 204 services (102 UP & 102 DN) were run to manage the Christmas rush on the Blue Line.
In order to provide better services and ensure passenger safety, Metro Railway strengthened its security arrangements by deploying extra RPF officers and staff at Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade stations. Lady RPF staff were also deployed to ensure safety and security of ladies and children. Sniffer dog was deployed and Medical Assistance Booth was opened at Park Street Metro station. Station staff also worked tirelessly to provide best services to Metro users.
Additional booking counters were opened at Park Street, Dakshineswar, Esplanade and Rabindra Sadan stations. Four additional booking counters were also opened at Maidan station to manage the rush.
Adequate number of staff were deployed at different Metro stations to provide proper guidance to the commuters.
