MORE INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES BY KOLKATA METRO

·NEW TOKENS INTRODUCED IN KOLKATA METRO

·CAKE MIXING CEREMONY ORGANISED AT PARK STREET METRO STATION


Kolkata, 7th December, 2022:


            Metro Railway has started issuing newly designed co-branded tokens from today i.e. 07.12.2022. Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Metro Railway issued the first token to a commuter at Park Street Metro station.

These new tokens have been branded with two well known market giants, sample of which was unveiled at Maidan Metro station o­n 27.09.2022. It is expected that this move will help Metro Railway to enhance its non-fare revenue earnings substantially.

2 lakhs such new tokens will be sold to commuters from the booking counters of North - South (Blue Line), East - West (Green Line) and soon to be opened Joka –Taratala (Purple Line) Corridors. These tokens will be popular amongst the passengers and many Corporate Houses have shown interest in branding of tokens. Both the business houses have expressed their satisfaction for joining hands in this branding initiative with Metro Railway, the most trusted mode of conveyance in the City of Joy.

In this connection it is reiterated, Metro Smart Cards have already been branded. o­ne private bank and hospital have been roped in for branding Smart Cards.

            For the first time in the history of Kolkata Metro, a cake mixing ceremony was organised before the Christmas at o­ne of its stations today i.e. o­n 07.12.2022. Shri Arun Arora, General Manager, Metro Railway was present in this ceremony which was organised in collaboration with a Hotel Management Corporate Group International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) at the iconic Park Street Metro station.

Congratulating Team Metro for taking innovative initiatives to increase its non-fare revenue, Shri Arora has informed that Metro Railway is going to provide two more gifts i.e. Joka – Taratala stretch of the Purple Line and Kavi Subhash – Hemanta Mukherjee stretch of Orange Line to Kolkatans very soon. Shri Rajesh Kumar, Principal Chief Safety Officer, Smt Chandrima Roy, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Shri Subhasis Bhattacharya, Dy. Chief Operations Manager / O&M, Shri Kaushik Mitra, Dy. Chief Operations Manager / Commercial and other senior officers of Metro Railway graced the occasion.
