METRO STAFF HELP AN INJURED AND INDISPOSED PASSENGERS

 Kolkata, Date: 20.10.2022

On 19.10.2022 at about 12.15 hrs. at Dakshineswar Metro Station, a passenger aged about 55 years slipped in front of a booking counter and got a minor head injury.  After observing this situation, the Quick Response Team of the station rushed to his help and he was brought to the Station Master’s room for treatment. He was administered first aid immediately.  His wife was contacted over the phone number given by him to the Station staff.    After sometimes, he felt well and wanted to go home.

In the meantime, his wife came to the Station Master’s room and identified the injured passenger as her husband.  She wanted to take him home.  After complying with all sorts of official formalities, he was handed over to her.

Before leaving this station, both husband and wife thanked Metro Railway Authority for the kind co-operation.

In another incident o­n the same day at 20.35 hrs. at Salt Lake Sector V station, o­n-duty RPF personnel during a routine check found a semi-conscious passenger in a Metro.  He was brought to Platform No:1.  Considering the seriousness of the situation, he was brought to the Station Master’s office in a stretcher and given the first aid, He was later admitted to Seba General Hospital at 21.45 hrs.  In the meantime, station staff contacted o­ne of his family members over the mobile number found in his pocket and he was apprised of his present condition.

After sometimes i.e. 22.30 hrs., o­ne passenger claiming to be his maternal uncle came to the hospital and took custody of the passenger.  All belongings of the passenger were handed over to his maternal uncle.  He thanked Metro Railway Authority for the kind co-operation.
