METRO STAFF HELP AN INDISPOSED SENIOR CITIZEN

LOST ITEMS  RECOVERED  AND RETURNED TO COMMUTER


Kolkata, Date: 15.10.2022

      On 14.10.2022 at about 07.10 hrs. o­n-duty RPF and station staff found a senseless person aged around 65 years o­n the UP platform at Kavi Subhash Metro Station.Considering the seriousness of the situation, they brought him to the Station Master’s room o­n a stretcher and he was immediately administered first aid for getting his sense back. After  sometimes, he regained sense and started to feel well and wanted to go home.  He also disclosed his identity and gave the phone number of his family members.The station staff immediately got in touch with his family members over phone. His son was apprised of his father’s condition.

After sometimes i.e. around 07.30 hrs., his son came to the Station Master’s office and identified the person as his father.  After complying with all official formalities, the passenger was handed over to his son.  Both of them expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Metro Railway Authority for the kind co-operation and help before leaving the station.

 

On the same day at about  15.30 hrs at Baranagar Metro Station, an o­n-duty lady RPF staff during a routine check found an unclaimed purse lying o­n the sitting chair of the Platform No: 2 . She deposited the purse to the Station Master's office and after opening it, a mobile phone and some cash were found therein.  

 

Thereafter, Station Master made repeated announcements through the Public Address System with a request to the owner of the purse to collect it from his office. A control message was also communicated to all the stations.  

               

            After sometimes i.e. at 16.00 hrs., a lady passenger aged around 55 years came to the Station Master's office and claimed the ownership of the purse and the items containing therein.  After proper verification and complying with all official formalities, the purse was handed over to her.

 

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Metro Railway Authority for helping her to get back the lost purse.
