METRO RAILWAY CONDUCTS CLEANLINESS DRIVE

AT STATIONS, QUARTER COMPLEX

SHRAMADAAN BY OFFICER AND STAFF OF METRO HOSPITAL

Kolkata, Date:  23.09.2022

          Metro Railway has been observing Swachhta Pakhwada from 16th – 30th September, 2022. During the Pakhwada, intensive cleaning and sanitization drives at stations, trains, colonies, hospital and other railway establishments are being carried out with special focus o­n plastic waste management.

As a part of this drive, special cleanliness drive was organized at  Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Amitava Dutta, Principal Chief Medical Officer and Dr. S.S. Pramanik, Additional Chief Medial Superintendant and other staff of this hospital offered ‘Shramdaan’ today i.e. o­n 23.09.2022.  Banners and posters were displayed in this hospital to make all  aware about the importance of Swachhta.

This apart, extensive cleanliness drive was conducted at Girish Park and Esplanade Metro stations today.  ‘Sevaks’ of Bharat Sevashram Sangha participated in the cleanliness drive at Esplanade Metro Station.  Swachhta Abhiyan observed at all stations of East-West Metro corridor. Banners and posters have been put o­n display. Repeated announcements were made through the Public Address System in the Stations about the importance of this swachhta programme.

Today, the Engineering Department of Metro Railway also organized an extensive cleanliness drive with sanitization at Dum Dum Quarter Complex.  Banners and posters were also displayed to make the residents of this complex aware about the importance of cleanliness.
