METRO CONDUCTS A CULTURAL PROGRAMME – onE NATION : CONFLUENCE OF CULTURES AT ESPLANADE METRO STATION

A colourful cultural programme was organized at Esplanade Metro Station on the theme ‘One Nation: Confluence of Cultures’ today i.e. on 22.09.2022 as a part of observing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Shri H.N. Jaiswal, Additional General Manager inaugurated this programme and said that India is a melting pot of different cultures which we are privileged to own.
Mr. Nick Low, British Deputy High Commissioner addressing the gathering, termed Kolkata as a magic city and said Indian Culture is wonderful and India as well as Britain must redouble their efforts to make the world a better place to live. Mentioning that the biggest Durga Puja of Europe takes place in West London, he said that Durga Puja is about joy, light, triumph of good over evil and unity.
Smt. Urmila Bhowmick and her troupe presented a beautiful dance drama depicting different dance forms of India which have made Indian culture rich and unique and at the same time strengthened the bond of unity.
Shri Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, thanked all and highlighted the essence and beauty of Indian culture.
