LOST ITEMS RECOVERED AND RETURNED TO COMMUTERS


Kolkata, Date:  28.08.2022

On 26.08.2022 at about 15.00 hrs a lady constable found a purse during a routine check o­n the platform of Park Street Metro Station. Finding no claimant of this purse, she deposited it to the Station Master's office. After opening  the bag, some cash and various valuable items were found therein.

Thereafter, the Station Master made repeated announcements requesting the owner of the purse  to collect it from the Station Master's Office and a control message was also communicated to all stations.  After sometimes a lady commuter came to the Station Master's office and claimed the ownership of the purse.The purse was handed over to her at 15.40 hrs after proper verification and complying with official formalities.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Metro Railway Authority for helping her to recover the lost  purse and other items containing therein.

In another incident o­n the same day, at about 15.00 hrs, a passenger after getting down from a Metro at the DN platform of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar  Station told an o­n-duty RPF staff about a bag lying unclaimed in a particular coach.  The o­n-duty RPF staff immediately swung into action and entered the said coach and found the bag.  Finding no claimant of this bag, he deposited it to the Station Superintendent's office of this station and some valuable items were found therein after it was opened.

Thereafter, Station Master made repeated announcements requesting the owner of the bag  to collect it from the Station Master's Office and a control message was also communicated to all stations. After sometimes at 16.00 hrs., a female passenger came to the Station and claimed the ownership of the bag.

After proper verification and complying with all official formalities, the recovered bag was handed over to her.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Metro Railway Authority for helping her to get back the lost bag and the items containing therein.
