METRO RPF RECOVERS A LADIES PURSE CONTAINING CASH AND OTHER VALUABLES AND RETURNS IT TO OWNER


Kolkata, Date:  05.10.2021


On 03.10.2021 at about 21.50 hrs, a lady RPF staff at Esplanade Metro station recovered an unclaimed ladies purse lying at the South side of the platform. After checking the bag with Hand Held Metal Detector, she deposited it to the Station Master’s Office.

After opening the purse, cash, o­ne Metro Smart Card and other essential items were found.

Incidentally, a lady commuter reported about missing of her purse in Metro premises at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station. She also gave her number for further communications. Central Control also immediately alerted all Metro stations.

Accordingly, Station Master of Esplanade contacted that lady commuter and requested her to collect the lost purse from him, showing valid identity and proof.

Next day i.e. o­n 04.10.2021 at about 07.50 hrs she came to the Station Master’s office of Esplanade Metro station. After proper verification and observing all official formalities, the purse was handed over to her. 

She appreciated the work of the Metro staff to help her get back the lost purse.
