‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’ CELEBRATED
AT PARK STREET METRO STATION

Metro Railway has been observing ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’. As a part of this celebration, a drawing competition was organized on National Independence Movement and Elocutions/Speeches on Freedom Fighters of India at Park Street Metro station today i.e. on 23.09.2021.
Shri S.K. Srivastava, Additional General Manager and Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer inaugurated this programme by paying tribute to all the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices to earn the freedom for India.
The programme was started with the chanting of slokas of ‘GITA’ by two school children. Two short films on the freedom struggle were also shown in this programme.
Eminent speakers like Shri Prithviraj Sen and five others spoke on this occasion and narrated the circumstances under which freedom fighters earned Independence from the British regime.
Students participated in the drawing competition. At the end of this competition, three best paintings were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. Two patriotic songs were presented to mark this occasion.
Shri Sanjoy Seal, the first Motorman, associated with maiden “Metro Run” on 24.10.1984, shared his experience on this programme.
