A PASSENGER EVACUATION MOCK DRILL CONDUCTED INSIDE METRO TUNNEL

Metro Railway always gives top priority to the safety and security of the commuters. In order to check the preparedness of Metro staff to tackle any fire emergency in train inside the Metro tunnel, a passenger evacuation mock drill has been conducted in the UP line between Kalighat and Jatin Das Park stations today on 30.06.2021 amidst the lockdown.
Metromen were trained and counselled by senior officers on how to take immediate action to rescue passengers in case of a fire in a running rake.
The objective of this mock drill was to upgrade the evacuation skills and fire fighting abilities as well as check alertness and preparedness of Metromen during such emergencies.
Senior officers and staff of different departments were present during this drill.
