INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA OBSERVED IN METRO RAILWAY


Kolkata, Date:  21.06.2021


          International Day of Yoga has been observed in Metro Railway today o­n 21.06.2021. The theme of this year’s International Day of Yoga has been “Yoga for Wellness”. Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager and other senior officers and staff of Metro Railway participated in this programme from home in the morning for physical and mental well-being.

           Metro RPF staff including lady RPF took part in yoga sessions at Noapara and Kavi Subhash stations as well as Belgachia and Kalighat post. A total 166 staff amd officers participated in these sessions.

        Members of Metro Railway Sports Association also took part in yoga session at Central Park Depot of East-West Metro. Renowned International and Indian Railways Sportspersons like footballers Mehtab Hossaine, Dipankar Roy, Asim Biswas, Abhishek Das cricketers like Amit Quila, Vivek Singh, Arindam Ghosh, Table Tennis players like Moumita Das, Shreya Ghosh, Inetrnational Chess players like Soumak Palit, Sayantan Das, International gymnast Papiya Das participated in this session maintaining all COVID protocol.

          Jingles o­n International Day of Yoga theme was played at all North-South Metro stations and banners depicting the benefits of Yoga were also displayed.
