COMMISSIONER OF RAILWAY SAFETY / NF CIRCLE INSPECTED DUM DUM CANTONMENT TO JAI HIND BIMANBANDAR STRETCH OF YELLOW LINE

 Kolkata, Date:16.08.2025

Shri Sumeet Singhal, Commissioner of Railway Safety / NF Circle inspected the Dum Dum Cantonment to Jai Hind Bimanbandar stretch of Yellow Line today (i.e. o­n 16.08.2025) by undertaking detailed inspection of all the sub-systems, viz., tracks, train, emergency response features of Metro train operation; a pre-requisite for opening of any Metro section for passenger services. He also conducted a trolley inspection from Dum Dum Cantonment to Jai Hind Bimanbandar Metro stations.

Apart from this, speed trial from Jai Hind Bimanbandar station to Noapara station and back was also conducted in his presence.

Shri Anuj Mittal, Principal Chief Engineer/Metro Railway and other senior officials of Metro Railway were present during this inspection.

CRS expressed satisfaction o­n the readiness of the completed section for passenger service.

On receipt of the formal sanction of the CRS, the stretch from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar will be commissioned. After commissioning of these new Metro services, the urban transport infrastructure of Kolkata will see a sea change ensuring seamless movement from o­ne place to another.
