GENERAL MANAGER UNVEILS NEW SMART CARD
GENERAL MANAGER INAUGURATES A NEPHROLOGY DEPARTMENT AT TAPAN SINHA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata unveiled a new look Metro Smart Card today i.e. on 14.08.2025 at Park Street Metro station in presence of senior Metro officials. Metro has entered into an agreement with a private company of the city for Smart Card branding. As a part of that agreement, Smart Cards with this new look, will soon be available at all booking counters of Blue Line, Green Line-1, Green Line-2, Orange Line and Purple Line. 3 lakhs such new Smart Cards will be sold to commuters. This move will help Metro Railway to increase its non-fare revenue earnings. As an initiative taken by Metro Railway, Kolkata for generation of Non-Fare Revenue advertisement through branding Smart Cards has been reintroduced through e-Auction.
Shri Reddy also inaugurated the Nephrology Department at Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital of Metro Railway today in presence of senior Metro officials and other staff. This Nephrology Center has advanced Haemodialysis machines, online monitoring system, diagnostic facilities, renal lab, pharmacy, X- Ray and USG and state of art ICU facility. The initiative aims to combine the extensive reach and infrastructure of Metro Railway with the specialised medical expertise. This facility will improve kidney related health care facilities for the public at an affordable cost .
