MEMBER (TRACTION AND ROLLING STOCK) VISITS METRO RAILWAY, KOLKATA

Shri Braj Mohan Agrawal, Member (Traction and Rolling Stock), MTRS, Railway Board visited Metro Railway today i.e. o­n 11.08.2025. During his visit Shri Agrawal inspected the stretch from Jatin Das Park to Noapara of Blue Line in a Metro rake. After reaching Noapara, he held a high level meeting with senior officers of Metro Railway in which he was apprised of the developmental activities taken in Metro Railway. He inspected Noapara Carshed and dedicated an Advanced Chemistry Cell Battery Unit there.

 

He dedicated two Dalian Rakes MR 508 and MR 510 for passenger service at Noapara Carshed.Wider doors in these rakes will facilitate easy Entry and Exit of passengers specially during the peak hours. Enhanced features of these rakes will also provide jerk-free ride. CCTV coverage inside the coach, modular and wider vestibules, enhanced seating capacity including provision of more seats for senior citizens and specially- abled are some of the unique features of these rakes. Apart from these, features like aesthetically designed interior, improved air diffuser, high capacity ACs, small and sleek alarm device with outside indication lamp, brighter multicolour multilingual display board, uniform illumination, wheel chair parking facility and door side hand rails have made these rakes unique in Kolkata Metro.

Shri Agrawal also inspected Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar stretch of Yellow Line in a Metro with senior Metro officials. He also inspected Jai Hind Bimanbandar Metro station where Metro officials apprised him of different passenger amenities going to be provided at the station.
