PURPLE LINE METRO SERVICES INCREASED FROM TODAY
72 DAILY SERVICES OPERATED FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY

Purple Line Metro services on Joka-Majerhat route have been increased from today i.e. 14.07.2025. To meet the demand of commuters residing in areas like Behala, Taratala & Joka, Metro authorities have taken this decision for their benefit. Apart from increasing services, service hours of Purple Line have also been increased from Monday to Friday.
This decision of the Metro authorities has brought joy and happiness among the regular commuters of this corridor.As per the new schedule, 72 services (36 UP + 36 DN) are now being operated at an interval of 21 minutes (instead of 24 minutes) from today.
So far, 62 services (31 UP + 31 DN) used to be operated daily from Monday to Friday. Service hours on this Corridor have also been increased to 07.57 hrs to 20:32 hrs instead of 07:57 hrs to 20:17 hrs.
Though as per the new schedule, first services from Majerhat and Joka will start as usual at 7.57 hrs. and 8.00 hrs. respectively but the last services from these two stations will now start at 20.15 hrs. instead of 20.00 hrs. This move is expected to help commuters to reach their destinations at night.
There will be no services on Saturdays & Sundays as usual.
