FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING ORGANISED FOR METRO STAFF AT HOWRAH AND ESPLANADE STATIONS

 

Kolkata, 18.03.2025 : -

 

To ensure commuters’ safety, Metro Railway always takes all possible measures.  In order to avoid any untoward incident like fire, different safety measures are adopted and reviewed o­n regular basis. Regular trainings of Metro staff of different departments are also conducted o­n different Corridors to check their preparedness and improve their skills in order to tackle any fire emergency inside the tunnels or o­n the viaducts.

 

Fire Fighting Training Programmes for field staff were conducted today i.e. o­n 18.03.2025 at Howrah and Esplanade Metro stations under the supervision of senior officers.  Through the simulation of different fire and smoke conditions, Metro staff were imparted the training o­n how to douse the flames. 

 

Staff from Traffic, Electrical, RPF and other departments attended these programmes.  It is expected that such trainings will sharpen the skills and knowledge of Metro staff as well as minimise the rescue time and restore normalcy at the earliest in case of any emergency.
