METRO RAILWAY OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Kolkata: Date-10.03.2025

International Women’s Day was observed in Metro Railway today i.e. o­n 10.03.2025 at Belgachia Auditorium under the theme “Accelerate Action”, instead of 8th March, 2025, as it was a scheduled holiday. The objective of this programme was to highlight the steps taken by Metro Railway for empowerment of women. An interactive session was organized to mark the occasion. In this session, the participants have shared their thoughts about the empowerment of women and the challenges they face everyday.

Highlighting the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway in his speech urged all to come forward for achieving gender equality and emphasised o­n the importance of empowering women and girls to ensure speedy pace of progress.

Smt. Ambika Jain, Principal Financial Advisor, Smt. Vinita Jain, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, all senior officers and lady staff of all departments were present in this programme. A Cultural programme was held in which a large number of lady employees participated. Ms. Arati BR Singh who is a psychoanalyst and philanthropist, the visionary founder of Sabri Helpage was the Chief Guest of this programme and in her motivational speech, she inspired all lady employees for making a better future.
